I like thrillers and mysteries.
Books I love: da vinci code, angels and demons, deception points (Dan Brown)
The Broker (john grisham)
State of Fear (michael crichton)

I always recommend Ender's Game, even if you don't like sci fi, because it's just plain awesome.

Sounds like you might find "This Present Darkness" by Frank Peretti interesting. He's a Christian author but the book isn't an "evangelize" goody-goody book, it's an intrigue story.

I like Dick Francis mysteries quite a bit. Hot Money is a good one.

If you like Crichton, you should read Jurassic Park. It's a good novel. Timeline was interesting but not half so well done, I thought.

If you like the Broker, Grisham has at least a dozen other books about legal themes. I think he's trying to get away from that niche... he's had a few non-legal books lately, and even his legal books have been moving away from the legal aspect... i.e. the Broker. It was about a lawyer, but that's about it.

Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. Great book. Lots of fun, very satisfying, and will keep you occupied for a while (close to 1000 pages).
