Wife and I are getting a baby sitter. What movie should we see?

The only movie we have see lately was the Matrix: REvolutions.

I am leaning towards the new hobbit movie. ;)

"The new hobbit movie"... you mean Return of the King? Doesn't come out till the 17th.

Only thing out right now that I'd recommend is Elf.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot about Kill Bill! Go see that.

I haven't seen any of these, but they are the only one's I'd actually go see...

Master & Commander
The Last Samurai
Timeline
The Missing

Of those that are out that I've seen...

Scary Movie 3 was great
Matrix was great

The last two movies I saw (both of which I liked a lot) were Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, and Elf.

Is elf really that good? I imagine that will be on DVD pretty soon.

Master and Commander is a good possibility i think.

that samari movie looks interesting too, but if it is the typical Tom Cruise plot then I can wait.

The Last Samurai is good, but not great. The cinematography and music is top notch. The acting was great, and the movie had some incredible (and brutal) battle scenes. However, the story and some of the characters were rather uninspired and resembled Dances with Wolves a little too much. Despite what the trailer presents, the movie doesn't have a lot of chick flick/romantic moments, either. There's an uneven tone with the film -- some humor in the first half, but the second half gets way too serious. Take it as you will...

21 Grams. Best movie of the year. Check out rottentomatoes and imdb if you don't believe me. I saw this last week and absolutely LOVED it.

If you like Pulp Fiction, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro or Naomi Watts (excellent performances by all) you'll like this movie. Highly recommended. Also check out AICN's review...

Acutally, if both you and your wife are going to see a movie, you might like "Love Actually." Its a pretty good movie plotwise and one of those movies that will just make you feel happy after seeing it. Highly recommended. Plus the wife will love it.
