You would be better off asking this question here:

And I bet you the consesus is they will agree with me that Valentine one is the best.

Do you even own one of the three detectors we're talking about?

I have used and owned many of them. I have an not "expert" but I have had experiences with many dozens of brands since circa 1987-88.

You need to read up on the STi-Driver. It's brand new and the only radar detector thats fully Spectre 2 stealth (important if you're driving in VA or DC). It also has superior Ka over either the X50 which is flaky and the Valentine which I have been told is comprable to the X50 for Ka. I think that pretty much wraps that one up. It's also AFAIK $200+ more than the V1 or X50, and with good reason.

wow so the speed of light is 45mph? 😀😛

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!

That was the sound of his point sailing over your head.

What he means is, your stopping distance will exceed the range of your headlights, so if you see an object with your headlights it will be too late to stop.

FWIW, I've found that the best way to avoid a ticket is to not draw attention to yourself. You draw attention to yourself by making frequent lane changes and driving aggressively, not by driving 15 over the limit.
