I second the X200 or X201. They are also available in tablet form. If he does alot of power-point presentations with his laptop in class he would love the tablet. My professors used it in class so they could write notes on top of the slides during lecture. They would even post these lectures online that were "ink'ed" from office online post-lecture.

It prevents the need for the professor to use the white board when he could do it all electronically.

yeah I mean if SSD is not his thing and he doesn't need a super fast GPU, why not tablets heh. gotta do something to hit that $2000 mark eh? 😀

MJinZ, any reason why Lenovos are Lulz? I did notice their ordering process goes very slowly due to having to ship it out from china, or at least that's how my friend's last purchase went. I heard some good things about the new vaios though.

What's a Laptop?

That's right, It's a screen attached to a computer with a built in keyboard, mouse, and speakers.

Now, what happens when everything you make includes a vista of complete absolute garbage that you have to then stare at everyday.

That's right. It's Lenovo. And 95% of the rest of laptops that squarely craps down consumers throats with laptop screens worth less than someone makes in Malaysia sewing Gap shirts for about 5 minutes.

I am inclined to fully 100% agree with this guy. The Lenovo screens are indeed crap.

I do agree that the Thinkpad screens have gone to the dumps. Some of them used to be IPS screens... 🙁

If the laptop is just for non-graphics work, the screen probably won't matter too much.

You can always replace the Thinkpad screen with nicer one if the screen was a big priority.. or pick another laptop brand..
