So I stupidly spilled water all over my 2011 macbook air and need to get a replacement, but am not tied to OS X. I edit a lot of 1080p footage and am pretty frustrated with FinalCutX and use Premiere at work anyways, so think a nvidia equipped laptop would work best (for opencl/cuda/whatever accelerated rendering). Any suggestions on a laptop with these specs?
- CPU agnostic
- Pretty durable, nothing extreme just close enough to the macbook or lenovo thinkpad level of fit and finish. I'm not gentle on my gear and will be using it during low-budget shoots as as pass thru for my DSLR too
-I think Nvidia's a must for lots of assisted rendering, not sure which mobile gpus make the cut (I don't game, at all).
-13 to 15", unless it's an especially light 17"
-Decent enough battery life
