pls recommend hsf for althon1.4
i'm not into overclocking...
the main things i'm looking for:
1) acceptable cooling performance
2) quiet
3) easy to fix

thanks!🙂

Taisol makes some nice quiet ones that perform pretty well. If your not going to OC, why not just use the stock HSF? If you bought an oem cpu, then I would go with a taisol for low noise and good performance.

i heard that taisol's clip design not too good...so will have some problem fixing it...is it true?

I have a Taisol HSF on my 1Ghz OC to 1.33. And it works great.
I donno about the clip problem. maybe there is a problem, but I just donno about it 😛 I only ontice while I'm putting the HFS on that it required alotta pressure applied. But I think that's true for all HSF.

I haven't heard about the taisol clip problem, but I could be wrong cause I don't own one. I've only read about them.

I do have a Globalwin WBK38 and the clip is also kinda tough to put on. I know that amd requires a certain amount of pressure for the clip and HSF so that may be the reason why most or all socket A HSF are tough for some people to install.

i would go with a taisol. the new cgk760092 is supposed to perform very well and its fan is powerful for its noise level. i have a cgk732092 and it performs well on my t-bird 900@1000 and the 760092 is MUCH better. the clip isn't bad but the 760092 has a 3 hole clip as opposed to the 1 hole on mine the 3 hole is better).

Taisol CGK760092 is what you are looking for. It has one of the most secure clips in the industry, holding at 6 points to the socket. It's not bad to put on, if done properly. It's quiet too, since it does not need a roaring fan, due to it's large cooling area, as well as it's copper base.

Actually, the clip design of the Taisol is one of the best out there, not only it is easy to install, it is also secure. The CGK760 is one of the better heatsinks you can purchase right now, it's a powerful heatsink, along with a quiet fan that moves quite a bit of air.
