Recommend *HL2* video settings for my rig.

what do you guy think? 1024 @ med? prefer to maintain a constant 60 fps. What about the other settings liek shadow and stuff?

Well, I've not played HL2 yet, but based on some of the posts I've seen, you could probably run 1024x768 with medium to medium-high settings. I'd probably turn shadows down to medium and lower the reflection setting so that only partial items are reflected.

This game is very generous.

I am running a 3200+ Athlon64 + Radeonmobility 9600 64MB and I get smooth framerates @1280x800 (widescreen laptop).

I believe you can run 1024 high w/o any problems. Do use the catalyst 4.12 drivers, they give a nice boost to the game. My rig is doing 60-ish on average with 1024 medium and it's quite a bit slower than yours.

xskydrax do the cat 4.12 even benefit my old 9700 pro? if so 😀 me eagerly wait for omega version.... what about shadows/filtering/vsync ect?

I'm running at 1024 and I have a (sadly seems dated) GeFx 5600, AthXP 2000+, 1GB RAM...

load times take a bit long (20+ seconds?) and it skips for 2-3 seconds after it loads, but runs reaaaalll smooth once it's all going.

Yea the Cat 4.12s benefit any radeon above the 9500 series.
