I have been wanting a case for my 10 HP Omni tablet. In my ideal world it would include a keyboard (Bluetooth) for typing on the go, would allow the tablet to be positioned in portrait orientation, and include a touchpad (trackpad) on the keyboard. Bonus points if the case/cover doesnt intrude on normal tablet usage (i.e. touch apps, reading books).
It seems the Kensington KeyFolio hits 2 of 3 plus the Bonus as it has a Bluetooth keyboard which many reviews say is actually good and allows the tablet to be repositioned to and from landscape and portrait orientations. It hits the Bonus as the tablet easily comes out of the case.
But no touchpad. I dont want to carry a mouse as I want the tablet pick up and go. Right now I have a small netbook case and it is kind of a pain with the Wedge Keyboard and a micro mouse. One option is the flat Surface mouse but I have run into too many situations where mice dont track well on the go due to unpredictable surfaces.
It got me thinking regarding the touchpad: There are Bluetooth touchpads/trackpads. Kind of expensive as the only one I could find with Bluetooth was one from Logitech for Apple computers (their PC has a dongle). But it is flat and could be stored in a pouch on the tablet case? And pulled out only when needed.
Another option I thought of would be a Mouse Pen. I have no experience with these but a pen with mouse buttons would probably work well in most situations and fit inside a simple case?
Any thoughts or recommendations?
Ps. I use my tablet daily. I use Word and Bibleworks a lot (Bibleworks being a legacy Windows application that needs a mouse and keyboard to work best), read books in PDF format, and browse. I do some light video watch (1-2hrs a week) and gaming (3-5 hours a week, mostly touch apps).
