HSBC has stipulations about the car so I am looking elsewhere.
They rates are 14.72% for me but the car has to have less than 70,000 miles.

You can go to certain dealerships... and if you put down enough money they will not check your credit.

Your job is your credit at certain dealerships.

Of course people who trade in their cars there are probably scum and never changed the oil in their life.

A local non-chain bank. At least that worked for me. I had no credit (not bad credit... some people say that no credit is even worse) when I needed a loan for my current car... a local bank approved me (even though many other more well known banks did not). I've actually been late on a couple of payments (side effect of being occasionally unemployed), and they've worked with me on it, and have been very helpful. :) I know that most banks don't seem to operate the same way, so YMMV...
