I'm looking at Thermaltake and Coolmaster cases at the moment. Antec had some nice ones, but I already ordered an OCZ 420W Powerstream so I need a case w/o a PSU, the 3000B is too plain; looks just like my current case.

I checked out silverstone and they have some great cases, but damn expensive.

So for Thermaltake I'm looking at this one atm
Thermaltake Xaser III V1000A Black Chassis

Any recommendations for coolmaster or thermaltake cases would be appreciate. I usually go with Antec, but I'm thinking about trying something new. Any ideas?

I have the blue version of that TT case that came with a poer suppy, and it is VERY, VERY good. VERY high quality. It is a bit on the heavy side, but not bad at all. The fans that come with ti are nice and silent, and cable mangement is very easy.

Go for it.

Between CoolerMaster and Thermaltake? Easy, CoolerMaster.

Thermaltake is good for two things, ripping off others designs and lying about their fan specs.

I have the Cooler Master Centurion 530. I've been very pleased with it. It has excellent cooling (2x120mm fans + CPU duct + vented front panel with filters), and the stealth optical bays are a nice feature. It's not too plain, but it's not garish and over-the-top like a lot of new cases are. The only potential downsides are: it doesn't have a removeable mobo tray, and it's not tool-free (you have to screw in your optical drives/bay devices).

With both 120mm fans, it's VERY quiet, especially if you are used to a chassis with 80mm fans. Note that it only comes with one 120mm fan (lighted). You'll need to purchase an additional fan for the exhaust.

Good luck!

Deinonych I was looking at that case myself earlier (the coolmaster). Currently I have an Antec case that is approx. 18 inches in depth and the back of the hard drives are hitting against my video card. Will I have the same problem with the case? I can't tell exactly where the HDs are gonna go.

I have an Antec case (SLK3700-BQE) for one of my other PCs that exhibits the same issue you mention. The hard drives in the Centurion 530 go in a cage that faces the side of the case, instead of toward the rear like the Antec cases. In addition, there is about 1" spacing between the motherboard (I have an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe) and the cage. So, you shouldn't have any issues with anything abutting your video card.

Also, the front 120mm fan blows across the hard drives, keeping them cool.

I have a cooler praetorian I can vouch for...isnt exactly spacious, so if you get it, you'll want to route cables...very sturdy case and I love the mobo tray

You'll need at least one additional 120mm for the rear exhaust. You can put an 80mm on the side where the CPU duct is, but it's not mandatory.

i have a silverstone temjin case, and it is plain awesome. it looks really nice and the airflow is strong. the cpu duct helps keep the cpu cooler, but this case was around $150. i'm very happy with it.

Never owned a ThermalTake product before recently. Bought a Tsunami and love it. Noise is subjective, but to me it's pretty quite with the stock fans. 120+ x2 included is nice. Coolermaster is still stuck on 80m fans.
