Recommend an XBLA game for me + the wife: Gauntlet clone?

Well, the topic's fairly straightforward; the wife is jonesing for the multiplayer Gauntlet-type action; I wasn't too impressed w/ the later iterations of Gauntlet (like Gauntlet: Legends, for instance) but what are some decent XBLA games that are in the same genre? I'd like to have something that ideally has 3/4-player (offline) multiplayer but 2-player is fine.

I was thinking Crimson Alliance was really the only likely candidate, but I'm somewhat tempted to try to convince her to play Dungeon Defenders or even the Guardian Heroes re-release; she games, but only occasionally. Which of the two is easier to pick up and play/has a lower difficulty?

Any and all game recommendations will be looked at. Thanks in advance!

It's not really Gauntlet, but Lara Croft: GoL is really fun for coop. There are also more fantasy-genre games like Deathspank and Daggerdale. Also, Dungeon Siege 3 is really fun in coop but it's more complex than Gauntlet and is a full game rather than XBLA.

EDIT: One piece of good news, Lara Croft is on sale for 50% off right now.

Daggerdale was awful, IMO. I couldn't get through the demo.

Crimson Alliance is fun, though I was longing for a random loot system.

Dungeon Defender, which is a cross between hack and slash loot fest and tower defense. A blast to play and tons of hours of gameplay.

Lara Croft is very good as well, the challenges give it some replayability.

Deathspank is decent (if a bit simplistic) but the multiplayer was weak IMO.

Any ETA on Torchlight 2? The first one was a good dungeon crawl, the sequel is supposed to have multiplayer.

I heard of how DS3 screwed the pooch in multiplayer (no exp., loot for guests to txfer to character, etc); I will have to look into playing Deathspank mayhaps.

I think Dungeon Defenders may be a good pick; I'm 90% convinced that I will be getting it.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I enjoyed Daggerdale, and was fortunate to not experience any of the myriad problems that plagued it. However, a patch has finally gone live a week or two ago. I haven't played it since June after I beat it in about 6 hours and my two buddies I was cooping with kept losing skill points. One actually got a refund from it. My advice would be to look at War in the North. I think that would be better as more people have said that coop experience is pretty fun split screen. Dungeon Siege 3 is fun, and I've tried it split screen...but it is still too expensive for the amount of joy in it. <$20...maybe for 360, but there are better games at that price point.

I will second the recommendation for Lara Croft over anything else mentioned so far. That game is all kinds of fun!

As mentioned, Lara Croft is good. I'm not sure if the genre is exactly correct, and it's a full game, but Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is fun. Both 1 and 2 are pretty old, so they can be found cheap.

It's probaby not XBL, but my girlfriend and I had a ton of fun with the Lego Star Wars games. If she's never tried it it might be an idea.

Some older co-op games my GF and I also loved: D&D :Heroes and BG: Dark Alliance. I don't know what the availabliltiy for those is.
