I was looking through the list, but the a lot of the monitors on there are huge and expensive. Some of the other ones like hte samsung aren't being sold anymore. I really just need a 19-20inch 5:4 or 4:3 screen. 1280x1024 is fine and preferable. Looking to spend around 300. It really needs to be easy to use to read text mostly, I do get eye strain pretty easily so nice contrast without being too bright is important.

It's hard to find 4:3 LCDs these days. I have a Viewsonic 20" 4:3 LCD that's great for office work, but its no longer sold. A similar one is this one:

With a 1400 x 1050 resolution, it provides a much larger working area than a 19" LCD, and has larger pixels and easy to read text. A really nice 4:3 LCD is this one:

For a 19" 1280 x 1024, you can really buy just about anything. This one is decent 8-bit display:

I think the best 19" LCD on NewEgg will be this one:

This is 8-bit non-TN panel, with height adjustments. The response rate is slow, so not a rgeat gaming monitor, but great for office work with a very high contrast ratio: Specs are here:
