i need an office laser printer that can handle a good deal of printing, like 100 pages per day at least, without any problems

some bonus features would be double sided printing and fax capabilities, but they are secondary to my above need and not necessary

i recently picked up a brother laser 5250 for office printing and its great, but im not sure that it would be good for the kind of volume i need

I own the HP LaserJet AIO 3330 which includes a fax, printer and scanner. It works for us, we do a heavy volume of printing. The only thing I don't like is the toner cartridges that we have to buy only have a print yield of like 2500 pages. I'm not certain how many pages we go through each day but it's a lot.

What kind of printing, color? black and white? Assuming black and white, id look for an old Laserjet 5, or like a Laserjet 4000/4100, those things are tanks, and each tray hold a ream, wont have to fill it but once a week at 100 pgs/day.

If cost is an issue I'd suggest a Laserjet 4000 - 4100 series printer, It will easily handle your page volumes and toner for these is cheap.

edit: its getting harder to find parts / toner for the Hp 4/5 series now and if you plan to keep it for the long haul your better off with at least a 4000

I have a laserjet 2200dn at home, networked. Technically its an office printer but it works well at home too ;) fast, has built-in duplexing, the paper tray holds 1/2 a ream and you can get an additional tray that holds a whole ream as well. I don't know about the page yield from the toner cartridge but it has only been replaced once (when I got the printer the toner was almost out).
