Is the Glock entrenching tool worth the premium?
Are the $20 ones worthwhile?

Are the non-collapsible ones stronger enough to warrant consideration?

I need opinions!

the cheap ones suck.

i have one from sog that is ok.

actually, most of them suck. buy a real shovel, and a pick. cut off the handle to whatever length you like.

Genuine military of some kind. I don't know where to buy surplus anymore, online I guess. All the B&M shops I was familiar with closed :^(

Digging/camping/hiking/gardening

Will probably be carried on metal-detector excursions.

Might be used to fend off wild hipsters.

an old hatchet and a spade work well for those sorts of tasks.

you could check out cheaperthandirt.com too

The bolded part is all an entrenching tool is good for, because it happens to be easier to pack.
You'd be much better served by the standard #2 idiot stick for the other three.

I carry a Cold Steel combat shovel behind the seat of my truck. Its a great utility tool. I wouldnt want to dig my truck out having to use only that, but its there in the event I do need a shovel.

Collapsible ones are absolutely useless, unless your are in a war and have to carry small package or camp miles out in the middle of nowhere where there are no road access.
