Recommend an electric chainsaw

I'm looking to purchase a chainsaw to cut up branches that fall into my yard. I do not plan on cutting branches off trees, I just want to be able to cut the ones that fall into smaller pieces so I can bundle it up for trash day. With that said, I prefer to use an electric one and not a gas powered one.

Also, for a 14 amp chainsaw, what type gauge wire should I get as an extension cord? I currently have an outdoor 14 gauge wire, will that work?

I would really recommend a small gas chainsaw. Think of it this way: if a nasty storm hits, the power is out, and a tree comes down in front of your car, what do you do?
