Recommend a water filter system, please.

So we are looking to buy a water filter system just for drinking. Not looking for a 'whole house' water filter, just one that will let us drink clean filtrated water (5 people in house, all adults). Also, i don't want to spend a fortune on this. We did buy a Pur ultimate water filter which fit on the kitchen faucet, but then just stopped working after a week (it wouldn't let out the water fast enough). Don't want to go with Pur again. Budget is around $40-50.

Thanks.

Just get a pitcher. I have a Brita that's been fine.

Either that or buy gallon jugs of distilled water at the grocery for like $0.79 apiece 😉

someone probably ran hot water thur the pur ultimate water filter, anyway, check out the pur plus countertop version, its a lot fast than the kind you attach the whole unit to the faucet. The filter is pricier but they last twice as long.

I liked the PUR ultimate sink and pitcher. If you read the filtering it seems the pitcher does one the sink doesnt and the sink does one the pitcher doesnt.....

About $80 will get you setup....my way might be overkill, but I figure if I am going to filter it I might was well do it all.

If you filter died it was probably the hot water deal or something ... could have been a bad filter.

I have my PUR sink one for a year and it started leaking after it got hit with a big pan. I called PUR to order a replacement part, they sent me a new one in 3 days no charge. It was even nicer than my old one (I had a vertical mount, they sent the new horizontal one)
