After realizing the importance of knowing the time (while forgetting my cellphone) I've decided I need to invest in a watch. Nothing fancy, or expensive (around $50), but somthing comfortable and nice looking. I have never really worn a watch before so I don't know where to start.

As per OT tradition, here's a pic of my little girly wrist

Please provide a link with a pic of the suggested watch.

Hmmm make a watch outta the Arctic silver tube ya got there.

I would suggest a watch, a non-digital one, with swiss movement. They can be had for $30. Heck, you can get a fake rolex with genuine swiss movement for $30.

I am partial to Movado and Tag Heuer, but those are way more than what you want to pay.

Har har. That's what I've got now; one "dressy" one for work and dates and such, a "diver" style with nylon strap for everything else.

Don't worry, next watch will be MUCH nicer;)

I guess I'm just not getting as much wrist action as you are eh Jehovah ;)

I'm likeing the look of some of those Black Titanium Skagens but they're a little out of my price range :(

This Seiko looks interesting, but it looks a little big and is it comfortable?

Keep em coming guys, you're giving me some great ideas on what to look for. I'll probably go shopping next weekend to try on a bunch of types and try to order it online for cheaper. :D

What are some good retail stores to look for watches? Will just any department store do or are there some that have more variety?

Man, that's only a bill, if that's too much, what is your budget?

Sadly, no. The style of martial arts I'm in makes it inconvenient to have a watch on. :(

I think for the most part doing any kind of strenuous physical activity makes having a watch inconvenient.

$50 like I said in my op. But if I can find some of those Skagens this weekend and really like the way it looks on me I might just have to splurge a bit. This is just about my first watch, so bear with me for my naiveté.

That's cool, I have a titanium pulsar that I got back in the go go days of dotcom when ashford.com had some big ass coupon that was like $100 off anything or something. So I ended up getting that watch for like $50 shipped. That's my beater watch, so now I'm looking for a nice one.

That's cool, sorry I must have been post whoring the thread too hard to see. :Q

Fossil makes a lot of watches in the $50 range. I think Guess does also. They're not bad for this price range.
