Currently has a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 which is a pci card. Would it be worth it to upgrade?
I'm adding a gig of memory.
 
What do you intend on doing with the machine?

I would say don't do anything since DDR is expensive now and you are stuck on a aged platform
