Recommend a video camera

Hello,

I am a total noob when it comes to video and photography. I want to get a decent camera to record my games playing on crt monitors and upload them to youtube. What would be a good place to start? My budget is $500. Thanks.
 
Why a camera? Why not just record the signal being displayed and upload it?
 
Filming a monitor looks very, extremely amateurish. Whenever I hit a video like that on YouTube, I usually close it.

Having said that, I have no clue how to record the screen directly, but a lot of people have figured it out.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked them and they seem to be just what I am looking for but I want to do some more research before i commit to buying.

Because I want to try to get as close as possible to record what my eyes see in person and not what the capture card records.
