Recommend a SCSI burner

It seems like my Yamaha SCSI burner is starting to die on me
so I'd like to ask for suggestions on a new burner.

Requirements:

- must be SCSI
- must have some sort of buffer underrun protection
- at least 8X write
- 50-pin wide (I believe all of them are)
- copies pretty much anything

Would be nice:

- under $300
 
That's a no brainer if you have a $300 budget.
Plextor. Their last SCSI is 12X but is faster than your required speed of 8X.
Retail at www.hypermicro.com for 239 + shipping.
This is probably the best SCSI CDR ever made.
 
No Brainer? That's not very nice! In this counrty (Australia) You can get Sony burners for under $300. So I figure that coz you guys are in the USA you would get them for half the price! Matbe your all getting ripped off!

Thanks, I didn't realize that Plextor had a SCSI burner with
burnproof. The last time I had checked, their only SCSI burner
available was the 12/4/32. Now I gotta see if any local shops
carry it 🙁
 
I think cloudchief meant that if Damascus was willing to go as HIGH as $300 Plextor was the obvious choice. Here in the states you can get Sony drives for well under $300.

P.S. By the way, Australia is great, I wish I lived there, two week vacation was no where near enough!
