Recommend a really really cheap drinkable wine

He doesn't like "decent" wine, so expensive stuff is wasted on him. He really likes the supermarket stuff, and likes to brag about how little he spends. I want to expand his palate a bit, and give him some cheap wine that he's never tried.

What swill do you guys like?

As opposed to....a wearable wine? 😕

You can't go wrong with White Zinf's. Everyone likes them. A Pinor Gris is a good semi-sweet. Decent wine goes for $6-$15/bottle. Generally, the cheaper, the more sugar it's going to have in it. I'm a big fan of Rosemount Shiraz, but shiraz is pretty dry. It goes for around $9/bottle.

There is a brand with "Cheap Red Wine" and "Cheap White Wine" as the name. They aren't offensive, and would make a good gag gift.

I really liked this merlot, an aussie wine something something shiraz. It's got a yellow/orange kangaroo label. About 5-8 bucks.
