Recommend a PSU, Antec or Enermax

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could give me alittle guideance. I have a choice of buying either a Antec or Enermax PSU. But I can get the Antec quickly, or a possible ~6week wait if I want the Enermax (so is the Enermax worth no computer for 6 weeks). Here are the choices :

(Specifications on rails etc are on the links also)

Antec:
-------
430W TruePower
http://www.antec.com/uk/productDetails.php?ProdID=07431

430W TPII
http://www.antec.com/uk/productDetails.php?ProdID=-17431
(This page seems messed up though, not sure on the specs)

480W TruePower
http://www.antec.com/uk/productDetails.php?ProdID=07481

Enermax:
-----------
NoiseTaker 420W
http://www.coolergiant.co.uk/product/po...pp/spec/noisetaker_ax_series/index.htm

CoolerGiant 430W
http://www.coolergiant.co.uk/product/po...p/spec/coolergiant_ax_series/index.htm

The machine in question is:
-------------------------------
GeForce 6600 GT
AthlonXP 3000+
512MB RAM
CreativeLive Soundcard
2x CDRW
nForce2 mobo

Would 430W be enough?, or would I need to push for the 480W Antec?
Is there much quality difference in the TruePower/TPII from Antec?
Is there much quality difference in the NoiseTaker/Coolergiant from Enermax?

Also, I intend at some point to switch to an Athlon FX at some point so the PSU needs to cope with that.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Cheers.

It's definitely not worth a 6 week of computer down time though.

Antec 430 or 480 if you will be upgrading

what he said but i'd get the true power 2 line, the one your link is messed up on.

Enermax and Antec are both good brands, but the Enermax Units you list aren't the better models.
but, anyway, TruePower II seems to be a good buy now because it's newer design is more suitable for a modern A64 system.

they are all good.

personally, I like fortron more, especially the fortron blue storm 500. quiet 12cm fan, sleeved cables, dual 16a (dont remember exact amps), and blue sweetness.😀

I have it running in my current rig.

another choice if you're on a budget is to get the xclio 450

Enermax. Recent Antec PSUs have had some serious problems.

Excuse me? Look at Antec TP2.0 and how they only do +/- 1% ripple... OCZ doesn't even come close.

I say Seasonic S12 or Antec TP2.0

NO POINT IN TRUEPOWER1. It's antiquated, and while good, doesn't match today's ATX2.0 and also the TP2.0 is much quieter + more stable.

I'd stay away from Antec as I will never be getting another one from them, my last 3 PSU's from them crapped out on me. Like DLeRium, I would recommend the Seasonic S12 series.

linkage?

I have not seen any proof or evidence of it, but enough people here and on the ocforums have stated they have had problems with the Truepower IIs that I would not go for them just yet.

okay, look

antec gets bigger as more people buy : more PSU's are made and sold : higher units means more deaths : antec still stands behind the dead PSU's and replaces them.

That still does not fix poor fan choices and mounting.

Did you read that one thread too?

I asked a couple people like rise if they were really haveing problems that were mentioned in that thread and he said nada. that guy must have got a bad PSU or antec changed the design.

Im with you, drew, I buy and reccomend fortron blue storms for my rigs, but I think teh antecs are okay too.
