Recommend a pickup truck

This summer I'd like to sell my POS car and buy a used pickup truck. What would you recommend?

My only requirements are:
Extended cab
4 wheel drive
in the $5000 price range

Full size pickup trucks hold their value well.

For that price i would expect a early-mid 90's ford or gm.

You could get an s10 or dakota with those specs much cheaper.

i would stay away from the S-10s because of general crappiness and the current generation of Dakota's because of problems with the ball joints. Nissan, Toyota, Ford and Mazda all have decent light pickups.

Midsize, Toyota is pretty much uncontested with their trucks vs the S-10s and rangers.

Full size, you are going to be in the late 80's for that price. Ford f-150s are pretty good in that range.

Look for some Full Size GMC or Chevy trucks. Best you can get
Right on, he's going to have problems with rusty trucks too and IMHO, Fords rust worse than Chevys.
