The shoulder strap of my current one broke 🙁

I'm thinking a bookbag this time, but not sure about it.

It has to be light and the notebook compartment protected.

thanks 🙂

I have an eastpak backpack style one that I've used for years. It looks like a regular backpack, but has as padded pocket that can hold laptops up to 15"

edit: i got it from ebags.com

What laptop is that that's only 2.6lbs? Anyways, back when i had a Protege (3lbs), i use to just put it in a packing envelope and put that in my backpack.

the bag, not the laptop...

I put my laptop into one of these padded sleeves. Then I put my laptop into a regular two compartment Jansport backpack.

One of the benefits of doing this is that I am less of a target for thieves since thy cannot idenfity the backpack as being one for a laptop.

Highly detailed bag reviews:

I like my Swiss Gear backpack I got from BBY almost 2 years ago. It holds my 15" Thinkpad T42 perfectly, with a bit extra room, has a lot of extra pockets & storage, and carries all my school books. I abuse the sh!t out of it and it is still going strong. The only point of wear is the velcro strap over the laptop itself, but that still works ok and the bag has a lifetime warranty (I hear they just replace it outright).

I've got the same system, works great.
