youll have to check that specific to the linux distro you plan on installing. if anything you should be able to find a usb bluetooth adapter that will have drivers for your particular distro.

I was just interested in USB IR devices. Would I need specific drivers for such things? I thought their might have been a popular combo among ps3 users.

Logitech sells what they call 'mediaboards' that have built-in mousepad where you would usually have keypad on the regular keyboard. There are two versions out there - older one using RF and USB2 dongle and newer one that uses Bluetooth (you would have to buy dongle for non-Bluetooth devices). The old model constantly goes on sale here and there, so you can find it real inexpsensive. I would caution against buying a Bluetooth version. As of now Linux still does not fully support it and Bluetooth dongles are known to be unreliable. The RF version has very good reach, stable connection, works around the corners, has economical batteries and cheaper.

These are OK keyboards for the price - a bit cheaply made but sufficient for when you want couch-browsing.
