My home router has died so need a replacement. Can anyone recommend a decent router with 4 ports? This will connect to a cable modem for internet and I don't need wireless capability, just RJ-45 connectivity with 100BASE-TX is enough with full duplex. Low power draw would be nice and I guess Gigabit Ethernet would be a bonus but not necessary. Looking to spend $50 or less if possible.

Those are currently $20 with free shipping at Newegg. Hard to resist. The reviews appear as good (or better) as any. You can ALWAYS find people who hate their router, especially their wireless section, which you won't be using anyway. Nowadays, home routers are mostly graded on the basis of their WiFi performance and capabilties, rather than anything to do with their wired performance.

No, I haven't ever used one of these. Nor any of the other ones you've listed. Sorry.

There is No news in the wire Router for many years.

There are two criteria to choose one.

1. Price

2. Download the extended manual and make sure that the Number of Ports, DHCP, etc. In the menus are enough to accommodate your needs.

Otherwise, currently the Best Deal is the Asus flashed with DD-WRT, and Wireless Off if you do not want Wireless.

I do not recall seeing an entry level wired router with Giga.

If you need Giga switch this is the best deals right now.
