Could someone recommend a good WWII based RTS game for my son & me? We are into playing Starcraft, AOE, AOEII, Red Alert, & Emperor: Battle for Dune.

Thanks!

Hidden & Dangerous is a pretty good WWII RTS (the only one I've played actually! Still, you might like it too!). You should be able to pick it up cheap (I actually got it for free from freeloader.com, but now they charge) as H&D 2 is now out.

Thanks teknodude, but it looks too much like a FPS. I looking for a 2D based game like AOEII.

How about Axis and Allies? I believe that it or Risk/Risk 2 would be pretty good RTS games out of the WWII era.
Maybe they're not exactly what you're looking for, but they're fun.

The only WWII themed rts I can think of is the close combat series, but they arent the traditional type of rts. No resource management and a set ammount of units for each mission, unit morale, and fatigue. Of the whole series I believe only the 4th installment had multiplayer.

Oops! My bad Quixfire...sorry that I couldn't help (forgot that H&D was a bit more of an FPS!).

AOE2...now that's a good game :D

Try Sudden Strike. I've never played it, but from the reviews I've read, it seems to be the game you're looking for.

I have reviewed all the suggested games and have come to these conclusions.

Axis and Allies, Risk, & Risk 2 - Look to be turned based and mostly combat driven. I still like Risk though.
Close Combat Series - I personally found these hard to play myself let alone my son, seven years old.
Army Men RTS - I have played the demo, it's ok but a little slow for my tastes. My son didn't like it either.
Empire Earth - Haven't tried it yet, plus I'm too cheap to by it.
Rising Sun Gold - Looks like a board game and I believe it is turn based.
Commandos & Commandos 2 - Again not a RTS

I found Sudden Strike to be worth a try, since I found it on clearance for $6.00 at my local Office Depot (Dearborn, MI). Even though it has no resource gathering, the game play reviews I read seem to make a very interesting game. I will let you know how we like it. Thanks again for all your suggestions.
