recommend a good vaccuum cleaner

I have a home health aide since I got out of the hospital last month. She wants to vaccuum my floor (carpeting) but hates my old cheap-ass vaccuum - it doesn't have enough power.

Hey, if someone wants to clean my place, I'm not going to argue. New vaccuum cleaner it is. Not too expensive, and plenty of power. Amazon would be good - I also order stuff from WalMart. No problems so far.

This is mine:

Best vacuum ever made, and will likely last longer than I will.

And it's shiny.

Rainbow. $1,000+ vacuum. Don't ask why -- girlfriends mom raves about it, I used it to clean, I assume a Dyson is better.

Dyson is nice, but I like my Dustless technologist shop vacuum better. It's far and away the best vacuum I've ever used. Can be had for around $500.

Dyson may be nice and all... but there's better 🙂

-edit-

But Dyson is good... Just too much plastic for my liking

My wife swears by her Dyson DC23 Animal. She also swears by cannister vs. upright. Do I see a difference in cleaning between a $400 Dyson or a $80 Hoover? No I do not.
Did I argue with her when she wanted to buy a 2nd Dyson Animal for the upstairs? No I did not.

No I did not.

I think you can pick up refurb Dyson Turbineheads on Amazon for maybe $219 or so. Still a little pricey for a vacuum cleaner....especially if you're a man.

It's a "Dyson", except it's not overpriced.
