I got one of those too. That thing is one hell of a suck machine. Weighs a ton but I've never seen anything clean a carpet like that Kirby does.

It probably works just as well as a dyson, without the same build quality, but you can buy 5 or 6 shark navigators for the price of one dyson.

I just got one and it's amazing. Pulls EVERYTHING out of the rugs and still does after 3 months of use. My grandma vacuums all the time, but doesn't use a good vacuum so I went over with the shark and pulled not shitting you, 15lbs of dirt out of her living room rug. That probably added 5 years to her life.

Numatic Henry. Will suck any Dyson for breakfast. Also, the eyes really help in establishing a personal relationship with your vacuum cleaner.

Just not sure if they are for sale in US.

If you think Dyson is king of the hill, let me ask you: have you ever seen them being used by a professional cleaning company? I never have, in contrast to the Numatics.

Dyson is the Bose of home appliances in my opinion. They might be 2-3x better than bargain models, but they charge 5-7x more. I was seriously thinking of getting one. However, when I went to a store and looked at what I could get for ~150 vs 500, I just couldn't justify spending that much anymore.

i got this based on consumer reports:

it's a best buy. not the highest rated, but the best overall bang for the buck. i have a dog and two kids to clean up after, and it does a great job. it's bagless tho, and you didn't really specify if you wanted a canister or upright, or bagged or bagless. anyway, i had a Hoover Wind Tunnel before this one, and i def like the Eureka better.

Dysons are like Bose. Good advertsing on an overpriced machine.

Save yourself some headache and get an Oreck. It will be the last vaccumm you ever buy. Litterally. They are expensive because:
1) They are made to last
2) They can be repaired

Nope, but I'm sure they use heavy overpriced industrial vacuums made to withstand the beatings of continuously being used ALL THE TIME.

Also, Dyson is overpriced imo, would never buy one.

Funny how not a single person has recommended a Dirt Devil yet.

They are pieces of shit. We went through 2 in about 2 years. One canister, one upright, and they both crapped out. Didn't work that well when they were working either.

We got a dyson 17 for ~$200 clearnace from BB and are very happy with it. I think there was recently a deal on SD about the 24 being $224 from Kohls

As someone else mentioned there is a hoover sold at walmart that is supposedly a dyson clone for around $100

After having buying and using a couple Dysons and other bagless vacs I've come to the conclusion that bags are just better AND more convenient. Yes, its inevitable they will lose some suction as the bag fills BUT you'll never get messy cleaning that damned canister.

Yeah, definitely won't be buying anymore bagless vacs.

Despite my objections my wife spent $600 on a Riccar which works great. I never had a dyson to compare it too but I don't care for bagless when my two stage Riccar works fine.
