Looking to get a scanner as I am in need of some OCR capabilities and want to scan some photos.

Can anyone recommend one in particular? thanks!
 
Gee after seeing the response to your post I'm not sure it will do me any good to post the question that I was going to ask. Anyway I just bought a Hp sanjet2300c scanner from office max for $69.00 (that seems to be going price just about everywhere) it does a pretty nice job on pictures from what I've seen so far (just bought it yesterday) but the jury is still out on text scanning where I'm concerned.

This scanner is a usb2.0 scanner according to the specs. it does seem a little slow for usb2.0 but since it's the first 2.0 device I've run I don't have anything to compare it to except my old parallel port scanner which it is quite a bit faster than. (yes I have usb2.0 ports) Now that brings me to my question! Does anybody here have experience good or bad with this scanner? while I can still take it back.

Sorry nitsuj3580 I'm not trying to hijack your post I just thought bumping you this way might help get us both an answer, and also that you might be interested in this scanner. 🙂
