Took the card out, still reboots, thinking PS crapped out ......

Recommend a good PS for 2 x 970's in SLI

CPU is an later Intel, not sure what,

One site showed the below
.............................................................................................................
GeForce GTX 970 or 980 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 400~500 Watt power supply unit. GeForce GTX 970 or 980 in 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have an 700~800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

Each graphic card is different, and there are some versions where they are clocked higher and use more power. This site did a review on 970s in SLI, and showed this version pulling 326 watts, with a total system draw of 439 watts.

Plus, different cards have different power connections. The cards tested here use 2 x 6-pin per card. So you'd want a power supply that offered 4 GPU PCIe cables. For a PSU like the EVGA G3, you'd need to go with a 750w unit or higher, as the 650w version only has 3 PCIe connectors.
