Recommend a good mouse pad

I'd prefer a hard surface (something that doesn't absorb sweat/oil)

Large is ok, but I'd prefer a smaller pad (7" x 10")

The best mousepad for me, is my pantleg.

from my experience, these gaming mouse pads aren't worth the money. the hard plastic ones I've had all dull down and create severe 'slow' area's in them, making them completely worthless for first person shooters. and anything else (normal cloth pads, hybrids, etc) just cannot reproduce the frictionless feel of the hard pads (am using that xtrac hybrid now w/ microdots.. it's fvcking identical to a normal mouse pad.. with 20x the cost. way to go reviews on the net!).

So my advice is to just buy a normal mouse pad or keep replacing worn-out plastic pads as they develop slow spots. Maybe someone else here knows of a better solution (god i hope).

I don't know if they make this one anymore but I love my razer eXactmat. Also checkout the Icemat or steelpad.

Exactmat is aluminum, steelpad is steel, and the icemat is glass.

Looking at the icemat, seems like it's just a pane of frosted glass..

A gamble, I know... hopefully it's flat and smooth enough to use as a mouse pad. I'll let you guys know if it works out.

I have the Icemat 2nd Edition Black it's a glass mousepad i've had mine for awile and I haven't noticed any wear at all you will have to get some new mouse feet for your mouse once in awile or it will wear your mouse feet down like mine right now I love this mousepad since it's glass it's going to last longer than a cloth or plastic mouse pad.

I know it seems expensive but if you think about how many cloth pads people go thru it pays itself off.

There was a review some time ago and it seems that the best mouse pad is a printed glossy magazine. They said that maybe that all the printed dots were perfect for the optical mouse to recognize.

Other then that, I don't think a mouse pad is worth it as a good mouse will pick up a flat table just fine and the mouse pad will limit your range of motion.
