I think the hard drive is dead because the cd-rom is recognized but not the hard drive. Anyways I haven't bought one in a while so I have no clue what to look for. Sure I can pick one based on size/speed/cache, but I'd rather have some input from you guys.
I'm not looking for anything huge, the drive that's dead is only a 40 gig. I would like it to be at least 5400 rpm (do they even make 7200?), 8 meg cache? UDMA-100, and 40 gigs or larger.
And, I'd rather not pay more than $100.
