Recommend a good headset?

I'd like to get a good headset (headphones + mic) for my computer. They would be used for gaming, TV watching and movies, music, VoIP-type stuff...I guess pretty much everything. So my questions are:

(1) Anyone got any recommendations or suggestions? Or could tell me where to get more info? I can't seem to find much.

(2) One other thing...I assumed it's better to get a headset rather than headphones with a separate mic. True or not?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks folks.

Oh...price range is, I dunno, like up to 100$. If there's a pretty good one for 50$, that'd be nice to know about too. :)

I don't know if headfi has much of a headset area, but they're the place to go for headphones info.

I'll be the first to say that you can't go wrong with one of the desktop stand mics and a good pair of cans. headphones that are comfortable make more sense than just about any other aspect imo.

so yeah in other words, (2) false.. i personally think a separate cheapo stand mic for 10 dollars and a good pair of cans is better.. i use it for cs:s and it works great.

my headphones are a pair of sony mdr-xd100's that I got at an electronics store for 20 bucks. they are super comfortable and I can wear them for hours.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. School has kept me from replying sooner, and looking into it more.

Here are some of the ones I am now considering after checking out Head-fi.org...
Koss r80
Icemat Siberias
Sennhaiser PC 150

I'm thinking I want the best sound quality for my money, and then I can either add a clip-on mic if it doesn't have one or use a desktop mic like kenji4life said. That was suggested many other places also.

So a couple questions:

(1) Anyone have any experience w/ any of these? (Or have any other suggestions?)

(2) pkme2's suggestions are interesting b/c they're wireless. How does sound quality compare between wired and wireless headphones in this price range (50-100$)?

Thanks to anyone who replies!
