I spent about $150 on an AWESOME grill from Kenmore... Lemme see if I can find a link...

This is the new model but all the same specs as mine. We got this one for my dad last year as well and he keeps raving about it.
Linky

700+ sq inches of cooking area. 2 full rows plus a small top shelf you can use as a warming tray. Side burner on one side, hooks for utinsels. Couple of baskets and such for keping things in.

I bought it for a cook out I had last year and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I absolutely love it and don't know why anyone would spend manyhundreds of dollars on a grill...

I've got one that looks like it might be similar to Franky's, and I'm not that happy with it.

It has the oval type burner with separate control for left and right sides.
And it has a metal heat angle like these kind.

It doesn't heat very evenly. Some parts on the side and in the front are barely warm while other areas (towards the back) get really hot.

I'm thinking of pulling the heat angle off and replacing it with a rock grate and ceramic or lava rocks. Maybe that will spread the heat out a little better.

Anyone know if making that change would cause any problems?

Get the Weber with 3 burners. They also sell a gas fired charcoal which is pretty nice.
