I'd like to start learning how to play piano. I tried about a year ago, but the piano I bought was a piece of crap (~$150, wobbly, non-weighted keys, an octave short, etc). So I gave up after a few months. Now I'd like to spend maybe ~1000 and get a good quality stage piano tp try again with. Any recommendations?

I got a Yamaha P-90, good action (a little heavy if you have weak hands though), good sounds. About $1000 new. Only bad thing I can say is that the action doesn't quite jibe with Gigastudio/Kontakt sample libraries, it doesn't seem calibrated correctly for those.

I went to guitar center the other day and tried out a few yamahas and casios. I didn't like the sound of the casios at all, but I liked the yamahas. I'm going to a piano warehouse soon where I can check out some kawais and others. Anymore input?

My wife has played piano for over 20 years and loves the Yamaha YGP-625. Musician's Friend has a scratch & dent for $540, it's normally $750.
