I'm working on building a computer right now, and am in the market for a case... can you recommend a good one (450 watts or more, ATX, SATA compatable) for $100 or less (if possible)? 2+ fans a plus, thanks!

Could you recommend the best place online to purchase computer parts, cases, etc.? Thank you!

Absolutely go with the Antec Sonata w/380 PSU. It's 99 bucks, so it should definitely fall within your budget. :)

Newegg currently has a special w/free shipping... Link

Are you sure you need that much wattage? My case is really awesome, but comes with "only" a quality 350w psu. If you're just looking at a basic rig at stock speeds, it would be plenty.

Either a case with 450 min PSU or with no PSU at all (will buy separately), thanks!

I went to Fry's today and the selection there was disappointing. Newegg or ZipZoomFly, got it... I'll check out those now, do they have the best price/selection online?

Some of the cases suggested look great... is 450w too much? It's going to be for gaming (Doom 3, Warcraft, etc.) so I thought more wattage was necessary to support the graphics card (is that true?).

this MAXTOP Signature Series Type II Mid Tower Case is awesome! Its got a 120mm fanhole on the back (which also is machined to fit 80, or 90mm fans) as well as side and top 92mm fans, and an 80mm fan in the front.

This case has excellent airflow, and its made from steal, so it's sturdy. Its probably the best case out there in the $30 range. If I ever build another computer, I would definately get the same case. Maxtop also makes similar cases with PSUs included...

Will do, thx. Is there a place online that compares prices between all those sites?

Well if you're getting an x800 or fx6800 then yes you're gonna need that much (two 12v leads). Other than that it's an overkill.

Sonata is overrated....get this one

Larger than the Sonata inside and every bit as quiet.

EDIT

Crap...didn't see that you wanted a 450+ PSU. Still the PS in the case above should be more than enough.

Because it is a flimsy cheap case. Get a case without a power supply and then purchase an Antec power supply.

What makes it flimsy? And what case w/out a power supply would you recommend? Everyone seems to prefer the Sonata...

1. I'm Hilarious
2. You're not.
3. You're obviously bitter about the pwnage you received from me in the NSX thread... so bitter that you're trying to undermine my hilarious comments in other threads.
