I need to read another book this quarter for school. I could randomly go pick a book but I would kind of like to enjoy it to. Not really in to anything in particular. Can be any type of book, and preferably 250-350pgs.

I'm gonna assume that you're in high school, so i'd say you should read The Grapes of Wrath. Good enough for school and good enough to reference during an AP exam.

What didn't you like about Brave New World? They're really only similar in their view of the future.

I would recommend the last two books I read, I thoroughly enjoyed both of them..Anthen by Ayn Rand, and A River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean (I thought it was better than the movie, for what it's worth)

A GAME OF THRONES by George R. R. Martin. Perhaps a bit longer than your page restrictions, but certainly worth the read. Entertaining in an interesting sort of way.

If you want a book to mind fvck you read

Kurt Vonnegut's: "Mother Night"

I'm not sure if it will meet the requirements of 250 pages but its a good read to kill a few brain cells.

I prefer dark comedy myself...

At the lower limit of your page range: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey

At the upper limit: A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole

I disagree. 1984 is a reverse utopia, one where everything is tightly controlled and the people are generally oppressed. Brave New World is a straight-up utopia, where people are controlled by happiness (through the soma). They're in fact pretty much polar opposites when it comes to their predictions of the future.

Edit: Can't spell worth anything at 12:30 AM at night :(
