Recommend a game for me

I could use your game recommendations.

I just built a new PC with an AMD Phenom ii (3.4 ghz), GTX 460 1mb video card, and 4g RAM. Monitor is 1920 x 1080.

I like FPS shooters, but don't like scary stuff. Older games are fine, if they support widescreen. Right now I'm looking for single player games.

I enjoyed in the past:

Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Crimson Skies
Serious Sam
Star Wars Jedi Knight
Far Cry
Half-Life 2 (Except for Ravenholm)
Mount & Blade

I started playing Oblivion, but the magic turns me off a bit.

I started playing Bioshock, but I looked out of that diving sphere, saw some scary thing drop from the ceiling, and turned it off. Too creepy.

Can you recommend any good FPS games that won't scare the crap out of me with dark creepy environments or stuff jumping out all the time?

Thanks.

Alright, in all honesty....

I would say try out...

Just Cause 2, great action game.
Mirror's Edge is a good game as well.
Bad Company 2
Mass effect 1+2
Starcraft? I don't know if you're into RTS.

Well OP i recommend you grow a pair and try dead space 😛

Apart from that non scary single player shooters that are decent include:

Crysis

Thats about it actually heh, the rest that come to mind are geared towards online such as bad company 2 or are more of a hybrid RPG thing like fallout 3/new vegas, all great games though and definately worth a try.

I'm pretty sure the Aliens in Crysis will be too much for him.

Man, How about "Unicorn Adventures in Cupcake Land"? You use your horn to shoot rainbow sparkles at the mean ol' ugly trolls who want to take away the Pony Princess.

There aren't that many good single player FPS experiences anymore.

What about the Half Life Episodes 1+2.

Borderlands is a fun open-ended FPS with simple RPG elements.

Left 4 Dead - Online cooperative zombie shooter, not that scary.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - pretty much the best online FPS military style game right now.

Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena is on sale for $5 at Amazon (electronic download)

Hello Kitty Online might be too intense -- the rending claws, snapping teeth and blood spurting everywhere can be horrific.

Call of Duty 4 had an awesome single player campaign. Crysis and Crysis Warhead are pretty much perfectly suited for this guy though.
