It'll need to carry a C compiler on it, along with source code for a game I'm making.

I'm thinking between 8-16 Gig.

Anyone have favs and can state why.

They have a fairly low rating. One guy thinks they're overly sensitive to static charges. Your experiences?

The 8 to 16 are still at prime price.

I use the San Disk 4GB Cruzer>

Durable fast, clear nice light to show activity, retractable USB plug (no messy caps).

Some of the Mega Chains have them on sale this week.

Man, I could get 2-3 of those 4G Sandisk Cruzers for the price of a 8Gig drive. Thanks, I'll seriously considering those now. Having looked at a C compiler to carry with, the Watcom compiler is free, 45M compressed and I remember Watcom as being one of the absolute best in the industry back in the 80s and 90s.

ADDENDUM: Damnit, the sandisk isn't available in my location...wtf? I live in a fairly major city.

Question, I don't have Vista, so I don't need ReadyBoost. Should I avoid it? Will I lose some of the ram to this ReadyBoost?

Nah ignore it.

Even if you use Vista, if you do not tell Vista to use the Flash Drive as memory Boost, neither Vista nor the Flash Drive know. or care, or waste space concerning ReadyBoost.

Corsair Voyager GT

All around very fast. Once I got my 8 giger, I haven't used anything else.
