recommend a enterprise file search solution

anyone know of a good file search solution that allows you to search inside PDF files and others?

also, it would be nice to be able to categorize the files into a database solution so that additional sorting can be done.

anyone have any suggestions?

What do you mean by "enterprise" solution? Are you just searching a local machine or network shares as well? Do you need the search results to be accessible via the web or a company intranet?

network shares and yes, need to search via company only, and again, we don't want the whole world to be able to search our files.

Not really a version of their desktop search - more like gogle in a box for your intranet.
My company has one - don't know the details but searching our intranet is finaly somewhat useful.

Of course, now they are making a big push to move everything to some big CF of a Lotus notes knowledge management system, which the gogle appliance can't see into so we'll be back where we were before.

I thought the appliance was for internet websites...we can use it for internal search as well?
