i want to buy one but have no clue which is best. any recommendations? i'm tired of the oil splashing all over my stove every time i want to fry something.

I got the t-fal Ultimate EZ Clean Deep fryer. it drains the liguid into a tub you set it on, then you can put the fryer in the dishwasher. It doesn't fry alot at once but for 1 or 2 people it'd be fine.

They all do the same thing...which is heat oil up to a specific temperature. I wouldn't go crazy spending money on a deep fryer, just get one big enough to hold whatever it is that you will be frying.

Oh, and please dispose of the used oil properly.

I've got the same unit, had it for over a year. No complaints, but it could be bigger.

QFT. Don't mess up drains or sewers by pouring it down your sink.

Around here, you can get rid of it by putting an ad on Craigslist for free used oil. Someone with a biodiesel comes by and picks it up to use as fuel. Easy as pie.

What ever you do, make sure you get one that allows the oil bowl to be seperated from the fryer for easier draining and washing. T-Fal are really good for those. Also, don't fall for the one that has the hose for draining. It sucks.

Again.. make sure you can remove the lining to wash! That's most important.
