I need to create a few ethernet cables for my house. These cables will just be used to provide wired internet connections in two bedrooms. The cords will be less than 50 ft running from router to the bedrooms. I went on Monoprice and there are options anywhere between $8 and $30. Which of these is the best for my situation? I don't anticipate using the tool more than a few times.

Unless you are making a quantity of 50+ cables, you are better off just buying pre-made cables of the length you need. The odds of screwing up a cable are very good for someone who has not done it before and they are even higher that even if the cable itself works, it will not meet specifications and be able to run at 1Gb or higher bandwidth due to errors/reflections/cross-talk.

+1 with Kell

Also on top unless you need specialized lengths, or you need to route them though walls, as the rj45 head is pretty wide compared to routing a headless cable, just get bulk premade in generic sizes.

If you need to route though walls, that again is a whole different story as the nightmare it can get trying to route a rj-45 cable even with the jack all made pointy like a arrow head.
