Recommend a cordless phone.

If you are using a wireless network, I'd recommend a 900Mhz or 5Ghz.

I have Panasonics around the house. One of them went bad but the other 3 are still working.

we've got panasonic 5.8ghz. its the kind where you have a base with the phone line plugged into it, and then you have several other cordless phones that you dont have to plug into the phone jack, and are just synchronized with the base. its pretty cool.

Here it is.

Edit: pretty darned expensive tho...

I also have had V-tech and Unidens.

The Vtech must have been the stupidest phone ever. It had this annoyingly loud beep everytime you pressed a key that you could not turn off. Sound quality was supposedly not good either. My friends would always tell me to speak up.

The Uniden was cheap and I basically shelved it.

Panasonic is the best cordless phone by far.

I have a 900mhz Uniden in this room and it definitely does everything I need it to, but the battery doesnt last too long on the handset.

Another happy panasonic owner. The one I have has a great feature where the top of the antenna lights up when the phone rings. Works great when you have headphones on or the music blasting or it's dark in the room and you aren't sure where the phone is.

Also has speakerphone built right into the phone which is a great feature too.

Owned Panasonic, Sony, VTech, Uniden, and AT&T. Do NOT buy Sony, Vtech or AT&T... they SUCK.

The 2.4GHz Panasonic I own is great... but I don't have a wireless system in my house yet. The Uniden is 2.4GHz too... I do wish the battery life were a little longer, but I guess you have to sacrifice something when the handset is so small. I love speakerphone in the handset.
