Recommend a cheap Digital SLR

They don't make any "cheap" DSLR and if you're looking for "cheap" then you shouldn't be even thinking about getting a DSLR. Lenses alone can cost up to 10k. You should stick with your point and shoot until you are ready to spend big bucks for some nice camera gear.

You won't get one for quite $250, but it is the closest thing I was able to find in terms of being 'SLR like' in a low MP(and hence price) package. For true SLR setups you are looking in the several thousand dollar range for the lower end, you start pushing up towards $20K for a complete high end SLR setup.
 
dSLR for $250?!? Oh, my... good luck finding one 😛

We just got a Canon Digital Rebel XT (8MP) and it's the sweetest thing. Absolutely stunning pictures and control. Payed about $950.
