For my 14 hour drive tonight. I always buy a new CD when I go on long trips. I was thinking about getting a Luther Vandross CD, but I'm curious as to what you'd all recommend. I open to:

Mo-town
Classic Rock
Jazz
Soft Rock
Heavy Metal

In that order. Heavy Metal will be a last resort. It needs to be something I can buy at Walmart or Sam Goody. Nothing overly obscure.

That's what my friend Mike said. Is there any album that you recommend in particular? I was also thinking about getting the new Warren Zevon CD.

I honestly couldn't recommend a particular album...if it were me, I'd probably find a "greatest hits" album with all of the ones I know and like on it :)

Conway Twitty? I don't know about that. I bought an Al Green CD a few weeks ago.

AFI sounds like pop music, at least from Amazon.com's thing. I listened to "Breed Black". I'm not really into that, but thanks.

Sometimes. I've been working a lot lately, and I got really burned out on it. I was playing like 3 hours a day for a while.

I'm going on vacation here in a bit (my vacation starts in 100 minutes), but when I get back we'll have to play. I've been wanting to pick it up again.

Based on your taste...
Steely Dan - Can't Buy a Thrill (or Greatest Hits)
Arguably fits 3 of 5 categories listed.

Amazon doesn't have sound tracks from that album, but I listen to some of his other stuff. It's a bit too country, but I'll keep it in mind.

AFI: Sing the Sorrow

AFI?

That's the name of the band. Stands for A Fire Inside.

They've been around for about 8 or 9 years, but they just recently broke into being mainstream.
