recommend a cd rom drive

I need a cd drive for a new system I plan to build.

Wondering if any of you could recommend one to me or should I just get which ever one is cheaper (I am thinking of maybe a LG 52X or Aopen 56X drive).

I am also wondering if maybe a dvd drive is better to get instead but I am not sure if a dvd drive reads normal cd's at a lower speed than a standard cd drive.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have been using a pair of Samsung 52x CD-Rom drives for over a year now and they have been very reliable and fast. They are a little loud, but as long as they keep working, I am happy. I have heard good things about the Lite On drives as well. As for DVD drives, they are a little slower than the latest CD-Rom drives, but they are still plenty fast for reading CD's. I will get DVD drives to replace my current CD-Rom drives when they die. (But I am patient, and cheap!)

My 56X is too loud. I love those in Dell PC, so fast and quiet.
