one of my users recently got the job of video editing all board room meetings.....

I need to help them find a camcorder that can be edited easily. I don't know which format yet...so please recommend one you like.

thx.

What's your budget? I would recommend at least $800.

As SethK28 said you do the video editing on your PC, not on the camcorder.
It is important that your camcorder have a FireWire port to connect to your PC.

I know, but which camcorder has good interface to plug into computer for the editing.

should I go with firewire or usb? which software?

RossMAN, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. For what it sounds like he needs to do, he can find the camera he wants for 300 or less. I'm sure the one I have now would do the trick, and I know at CC it's around the 300 range. And they also sell Pinnacle there, which he could get for an additional 80 bucks. When all is said and done, I would say he needs to spend no more than 550 with tax, unless he needs a firewire cable/card.
