Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory
Zao - Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest
Nile - Black Seeds of Vengeance

the last two are pretty hardcore and would probably scare most people.

I'm enjoying ill Nino's album. Its nothing to write home about, but not too shabby if you're into that kind of music (rock metal).

Brand new record and artist. Off Motown Records.

Remy Shand - The Way I Feel

His first album. Absolutely outstanding! Classified as soul music but it has much more of a poetic and refined feel to it than does traditional soul.

Saves the Day - Stay What You Are.

OMG these guys (and specifically this album) kick ass! It's basically emo, although their few older cds are a bit more punk, and normally I listen to punk and before you put it off as "gay emo", but man this cd just owns. Like the guitar is cool, the bass is tight (pretty hard too), and the lyrics are simply amazing. I wish more of their songs weren't two guitars/way to f*cking hard to play so I could play more on the guitar...

The Watchmen -- any or all of McLaren Furnace Room (1st album, and second best), In the Trees, Brand New Day, Silent Radar (their best), and SloMotion (double disc, the second being remixes of stuff from their other 4 albums). Fav band :D

Prozzak -- Hot Show,Saturday People. Described by my friend as "bubble gum pop." The only band I know of to incorporate the ICQ "Uh oh" alert sound into a song.

Barstool Prophets -- Crank, The Last of the Big Game Hunters. Think Bare Naked Ladies in terms of sound, but with more consistant style, and much better songs.

Those being all Canadian bands, they should be plenty obscure for ya :p

If you want Floyd, you can't beat Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Wall.

(On a side note for Floyd, can anyone think of a song title longer than "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict" off the Ummagumma album?)
