Recommend a $200 PCI Express card, NVIDIA pleases

Also does hooking up my 19'' Samsung 2ms response via DVI make any difference?

That?s about it

Thanks!

That's a 256mb card, bad bad bad. MSI cards are just fine, but have shorter warranty, I think it's 3 years, which is long enough, no ?

It's not oc-ed though, and has the stock cooler and is 30$ more expensive. Wouldn't be worth it for me, and if you don't plan on selling it, double life-time is useless.

Is the MSI card "quiet" in non-gaming mode? I'm looking for something int he same budget range but prefer a slient card. Missed out on the ECS. Held out actually, I'm not too keen on their products, their mobos are eh.

that msi card is pretty sweet. it's got a pretty good factory oc, plus it has a LOT better stock cooling than a standard 8800gt. For $200 I think that it's tough to go wrong with that one. you can find 8800gt's for a few bucks cheaper in hot deals, but they're the really really super secret off brands and don't have the nice factory oc. I agree with marc, get that card and don't think twice.

You could alway get a 8800 GT any brand and put a artic cooling S1 on it, and run it passively with no fan and it still cools better than stock and its dead silent :)

I think the MSI card gets you the best bang for the buck when you factor in the stock Zalman cooler (which means no voiding your card's warranty by installing an aftermarket cooler) and current $20 MIR promotion that puts the card at $199 plus shipping (so call it $205 shipped 3 day from the egg). Completely passive cooling is nice though you lose the factory overclock and are going to need to be more careful with case airflow to avoid killing your card. Figure you're adding $30 to the base price of a "budget" 8800GT which will still cost you more than the MSI solution with a quit, active stock cooler.

i can't believe how cheap the 8800GT is now. When I got mine for $220 back in december it was a ridiculously good deal...best buy couldn't keep them on the shelves. Makes me really wonder what the new GTX will be like.
